Faustino Asprilla is a retired Colombian professional footballer who was known for his electrifying pace, skill, and goal-scoring abilities. He was born on November 10, 1969, in Tuluá, Colombia.
Asprilla began his professional career with Colombian club Cúcuta Deportivo before moving to Atlético Nacional, where he helped the team win the Copa Libertadores in 1989. He then had successful stints in Italy, playing for Parma and Palermo, as well as in England with Newcastle United.
Asprilla was a key player for the Colombian national team during the 1990s and played in the 1994 FIFA World Cup where he scored a memorable hat-trick against Argentina. He made a total of 57 appearances for Colombia, scoring 20 goals.
